Welcome to The Redwood Cut, in this edition, we have a lot of exciting things to cover, with various initiatives and tournaments being taking place within our golf club.

First things first, we would like to congratulate our Top Dog Winners of 2022;

Please congratulate them as they are our Top Dogs, Top Cats of 2022.

Top Dog and Top Cat is one of our major tournaments of the year, next to the Club Championships.

A very well done to all the winners, participants and the Golf Committee and the volunteers for another successful tournament.

Collegiate Strokeply Championship 2022 

On the 21st of June, we had the prestigeous Auckland Collegiate Strokeplay Championship. This is the biggest tournament winthin the Auckland College Sport Calendar, with big names such as Ryan Fox, Lydia Ko and if i could squeeze myself in there as one of the winners in the past.

This year, Auckland College Sport was looking for a venue as Covid has disrupted the schedule for the event and Redwood Park put our hand up saying, we will be grateful have you them here to see what the best of our Auckland college stundents can bring to us.

With 25 Secondary Schools being represented, all the way from Wentworth College to Waiuku College, it was great to see our junior members being represented as well, 4 from the boys section and 1 from the girls.

New Zealand Golf Special Olympics On Course Session

We just had our first NZ Golf Special Olympics On Course Session on the 19th of June.

This is a movement from the NZ Golf via the All Abilities programme they have initiated couple of years ago. Being disrupted by various Covid lockdowns in Auckland it was wonderful to see the crew turning up at Redwood for the first time and enjoying the course. We had Jayden leading the group and showing them round, it was great to see smiles on everyone's faces.

One of the members of the Specialy Olympics said, "This is the best turn out and the most amount of support the hosting golf club has shown to us."

We will be continuing to support All Abilities and Special Olympics through various ways, please keep an eye out for more events and notices.

Sue Child, is our All Abilities Manager, so if you would like to participate on these events please let her know.

On a side note, Jayden Baek, our junior member will be going for his National Team Trials to represent New Zealand in Berlin, Germany next year.

Thanks to all the supporters and volunteers that came out to help, even through the crisp temperature towards the end.
