Hi to all members,

A quick reminder that Monday and Tuesday next week it will only be nine holes only for playng. We are well over due for a deep needle tine across all the greens and this will be performed on those days. We will be starting on the back nine on Monday and swinging nines to do the front nine on Tuesday. Sorry for the inconvenience but thank you for your understanding.

A slight correction with the email to all members sent out earlier this week, help isn’t required around the shed but instead working in with Graham Smyth and his weekly tree pruning run. On Tuesday the front will be closed for needle tining and Graham and the crew will be working through that nine. For the ones that have already said yes and anyone keen on some branch lifting, Graham and the boys will be meeting in the top carpark around 8:30am. Graham has a plan on where needs it and he’ll be directing the crew around. To all that turn up I please ask to take extreme care as Graham will be using his chainsaw. For health and safety reasons he is to be the only one but feel free to bring a set of your loppers to help where you can. The white truck and tractor/trailer be needed to cart away.

Coring

It’s that time of year again; coring will commence on the 25th of October. We are running the smaller tine (double pass) this October with a scarify and under sowing of seed. This process is considered a light renovation but will still require the week to achieve what we need. With all going to plan and the weather playing ball I would like to have the course open at its earliest on Friday afternoon. If there is interest that week I could organise with the club that twilight is played on that Friday afternoon.

Twilight

For the members that are playing twilight you’ll notice that it has been the back nine so far. T his is due to the drop hole not quite up to standard for play. As well of it being a wet surface due to no drainage you may have noticed we have needed turf for some spots. Me and the crew here are working towards re-surfacing that green and adding drainage which will mean that this year’s twilight will be run off the back.

12th Bridge

The contractors have been in contact and are still a couple of weeks from getting here. Some turf has been laid at the back and as soon as they are done you’ll enjoy some Saturday golf from the back tees, love playing off the tips!!

All the best to the golfers in contention for the last day of club champs!

Regards
