Hi  all members,

After some hard thought and discussion with the board we have decided to do a very light renovation over the greens next week for this season's reno’s. There are a few reasons for this, and the two main ones are because of what we all have experienced with the weather events so far this year and the cancelation of our contractor that has the specific machinery; sourcing one to hire became rather difficult. Having also a good understanding of the disruption that you have all had with the recent closures caused by the floods and cyclone, it makes sense to have the greens back to a playable standard quicker.

We had planned to do a traditional 5/8 core (big tine) but now going in with a light verti-cut (possible double pass), seed and sand. This is a much quicker process, and the recovery time is days rather than weeks. If the weather plays ball, which its looking like in the long range, we are hoping to be all done by Thursday lunchtime next week, which would mean opening the course at around 12pm and running a special last twilight at normal time. This will be decided closer to the time but advise you all to look out for emails about tee bookings opening.  The last twilight was confirmed because of popular demand.

Bunckers - We have most of them back in play. The greenside bunkers on the 1st, 8th and 17th require some major work and these will remain G.U.R till after Reno’s. If bunkers have rakes in them, they ARE in play; the others have G.U.R. signs in them.

Trees - You will notice that all the branches have been cleared and we are  now onto moving the wood. We plan to make a start on this late next week. Hard to miss our mountain of mulch that has come from all this. So, if any members would like to get in contact about grabbing some please do; we do need a lot for the gardens out on the course, so it can’t all go but happy to assist if some are keen (first in first serve basis). We will be stacking all the wood up at the shed and splitting this coming winter and the same will apply when offering  the firewood.

Thank you again for all your understanding through this rough start to the year, lets all hope going forward we are a little more settled.

Regards

Daniel Godek
